20,000 teachers in the world's 4th most populous nation - Indonesia - will soon be trained on how to bring technology into the classroom and equip kids with 21st century digital skills, thanks to a joint initiative between Intel and UNESCO. Companies hoping to shave costs by putting off the purchase of new PCs may actually spend more, according to a study commissioned by Intel and conducted by Wipro Product Strategy and Services. Maintenance and acquisition costs are lowest at three years, making that the most cost-efficient time to buy. In fact, by buying then, companies can recoup their investment in in as little as 10 months if the PCs include Intel vPro technology. Possibly as important as cost, hanging onto to those old PCs could make the company vulnerable to up to 53 percent more security incidents in year four than year one.
